Course Objectives

The Dental Front Office course will teach students to greet patients, schedule procedures, bill and submit claims, read a patient record, chart a patient's oral cavity and run reports.

1. Intro to the Front Office

Description

The first module in a series of modules aimed at preparing students to work in the front office.

Module Objectives

Introduction to the Dental Office

2. The Patient Record

Description

This module teaches:
A dental chart, and charting symbols,
The legal importance of a record,
Entering treatments into the patient record

Module Objectives

The patient record is a legal record of the patient's dental history and procedures during their period of being a patient at the dental office. The student will learn how to keep, administer and read a patient record.

3. The Clinical Record

Description

charting, inputting Treatment, moving and mount X-rays on software.

Module Objectives

The student will learn to chart the oral cavity, mount x-rays, read and input treatment.

4. Scheduling

Description

Philosophies of scheduling, emergencies, cancellations, multiple operatories, doctor vs assistant time, insurance and maximums.

Module Objectives

Teach the student how to schedule a new patient and an existing patten with a treatment plan.
